A Remote Controlled Hair Dryer? Yeah… Not Quite
I keep hearing the word “infrared” being thrown around in reference to hair dryers. I’ll be honest I had no idea what it meant. Sure, I know my remote control connects to my television via infrared something or other, but I really didn’t know how to explain the application on my hair dryer (or my TV remote for that matter).
From what I’ve learned, it means the heat dries the inside of your hair before the outside. So, like the infrared on your remote can go through things, the infrared heat on your dryer goes through your hair to make it dry faster.
That makes sense right? Regardless, a technology that can make my hair dry faster is awesome in my book as long as it doesn’t leave me with toasted strands after the fact. Well, the Babyliss Pro BABTT5585 Tourmaline Titanium 3000 Dryer does just that. It can go through the strands to dry from the inside out and stop frizz as it goes.
The Heat And Speed You Need
With plenty of settings for heat and power, there are a lot of ways to find the right temperature for you. Between the two there are 6 different settings which mean you get all the heat and power you need, and only the amount you want. I’ve had dryers that dry pretty quickly while leaving my hair feeling like straw! As I run my hands through my hair now I’m feeling something similar. Control is the key to getting the right amount of heat without all the drama.
Curved For A Reason
My 11 year old niece has hands bigger than mine. I have these tiny little things that make children look like giants. This means my dryer has to be pretty small so I can hold it without dropping it approximately 1,000 times. Worse, sometimes I get hand cramps that are MONDO lame!
Anyway, this dryer has a curved handle to make it easier for baby hands like me to hold. This is a welcome change to the chunky handled monster I currently have. Between the size of my hands and the strength in my arms, I get majorly uncomfortable when holding a dryer for too long.
One of the great parts of blow dryers is the fact they often come with handy attachments that make the hot air do exactly what you want. You can either have a concentrator that puts all the air into one place, or you can use a diffuser which is better for curls. The problem though, is the attachments on this dryer don’t really want to stay in place. In fact, they want to do the exact opposite. They either slide around or fall right off, and that’s not helping anyone.
Good Effort But Not My Baby
I did my best to find the good in yet another Babyliss Product, but I just can’t seem to get on board with what they have to offer. I know a lot of people love them and I must be an exception to the rule, but the fact I may have problems with the attachments kind of negates ease of use.
If you’re a Babyliss lover like so many people I know, this could very well be the dryer for you.
