What Can Porcelain Do That Everything Else Doesn’t?
I’m not terribly familiar with what porcelain does for a hair dryer, so I wanted to look into some of the options available to see if I could figure it out.
The Carrera 2 also uses ceramic, and I’m madly in love with my ceramic flat iron (we’re palsies). The smooth surface makes it easier to calm your hair, and traps all that much needed moisture in. However, I wasn’t entirely sure how it works when the item isn’t actually touching my hair.
The BaByliss Pro BABP6685N Porcelain Ceramic Carrera2 Dryer has the porcelain I’m interested in as well as the ceramic coating I love. Porcelain, I learned, allows the dryer to get hot without overpowering your hair with heat, and it doesn’t pull the moisture out of your strands. It’s also infuses your hair with the ions needed to keep frizz out.
Dry In A Flash
Turn it on. Move it around. Get dry hair. It’s actually that simple! I’m trying to wrap my head around the idea of a dryer that can get through hair quickly without frying it, so you end up with nothing but a big ball of frizz. Well, it sounds like that’s just what this one can do. I’m amazed with the amount of detail you can get from one powerful blower that still makes everything smooth. Maybe I’ll be putting my flat iron away for good?
Sleek And Smooth Without Products
Whether you’re big on heat protectants or not this dryer traps in the shine, eliminating the need for you to add a whole load of product that can make your hair well, “gunky”! The ionic technology which comes right out of the blower makes it possible to get sleek, straight hair without any of that annoying crispiness which is something I have suffered and loathe!
Cold Baby, Cold
I really can’t blame this particular dryer for the problem I’m about to point out, because many electrical products have the same thing. Just be aware that some people have reported the blow dryer gives up before it really should (but then, when does an electrical appliance ever give up when you expect it to? ).
It can poop out on you in a variety of ways. Some people say it stops blowing hot air on all settings. Other people say it will only turn on for short periods of time and then shut off on its own. Some even say it stops turning on all together.
On the positive flip side, there were also plenty of comments of hot dry longevity so maybe I’m just being overly concerned. This baby sells like hot cakes, and you’re more likely to hear someone complain about that one burned cookie than the other way around.
Middle Grade Staying Power?
At $60 – $70 this is the cheapest “professional” style blower you’re likely to find, and it offers quite a bit for the money. I’m not entirely sure it has the staying power I’m looking for, but it has plenty of perks and there are a lot of good things to say about it.
If you think the price is right and you’re going to stick with tons of people who are perfectly happy with it, just make it yours.
